Since 1996, Peralta Hacienda Historical Park has been open to the public and continues to educate on the historical background of Oakland. Their mission is to promote understanding and historical healing in a diverse and changing community. While giving a voice to the many cultures that have created and are still transforming within California. Youth Making History is an outstanding and impactful after school program for middle and high school youth. This program trains next generation leaders in a safe and empowering space for them to explore their roots, express their voice creatively while learning about the historic changes in their city creating an impact. An exciting new project is set in motion for 2021which will include more community engagement.
